Cyndoll I Owe You Some Money!!!! - The Official Silk Press “For Dummies”

Hair Update!!! (Skip to the bottom for steps)

I received my first silk press of the year on January 18th 2025. I was thinking about either going to get another silk press at the salon or doing the 7 day challenge while I figured things out at home. I decided to go with the at home process. I’m 25 I’ve had relaxers, natural hair for years, major hair damage by hood stylist and everyone in between. I have never been able to straighten my hair or do my hair or even braid it. But this year I decided to get my ends trimmed and I followed the routine to the best of my abilities based off of how we are instructed to do it. The results are shocking mind you my budget is tight in total I spent $200. Divide that by 26 for biweekly weeks in a year, I only spent $8 each hair day. Below with the help of Cyndoll explaining the science and products to use and ChatGpt compiling all our thoughts, facts, and concerns I achieved my perfect silk press. This is coming from a girl never turns out like the video. Also also when I was blow drying my hair I used a little of bit of tension just taunt and it did wonders. Let me know if you try it or any tips.

Things I learned:

  • They are so right when they say a little product goes a long I mean a long way pea side of everything read the label!!!

  • When drying my hair it dried on me curly while trying other parts of my hair. I remember Cyndoll said that was because our blow dryers were not fast enough so I lightly with the slightest bit of water damped my hair enough just to blow dry it straight.

  • The tension method did wonders for my blow drying process I held it taunt. Cut my blowing time down tremendously and I didn’t have to run the comb attachment through my hair as much. (Don't be lazy and please at least 85 % dried hair)

  • During the tension method you shouldn’t even to be able to feel it pulling on the scalp. I also used the focuser first and than switched the attachment to comb to full dry out my blow dry.

  • I also didn’t put bio silk in my hair when i sat under the dryer the last time. I will try that next time to see the difference.
