I'm Bella this is the second time I've flat ironed my hair using Cyn's methods.
Back story, so boom I've been natural for about 20 years and i've cut my hair probably that many times. I've become very detached to it in ways and therefore i'm completely open to trying this old way of doing things.
I've always been open to a long process I just want to have fun with my hair.
I rage cut my hair November of 2022 and was like mannn whatever i'm blow drying this and light pressing it before I braid it down. I was SUPER tired of all the extra pomp and circumstance...because for what??? Felt like all I did was wear a wig and braids anyway. (I've always only used a leave in a heat protectant with heat processing /styling.....but after that I'd apply A LOT of butters to my ends before I braided it.
So then I was like I want hair to my waist so my grand kids can know it's possible. Started leaving the hair styles up for about 4 weeks compared to a million and every time I would trim my ends.
THEN the back of my neck where the wigs and caps were sitting were strangling me or something, i don't know but what i'm not going to be is in pain over hair. I'm 42 and that's just not a thing for me.
That's when I found videos about being a straight natural and I though, meh might as well! I found Cyn's videos and here I am a full 17 days in. I don't know that I have fears more than I'm like eeekkk at certain things. Example combing my hair, which is crazy because I lose HELLA hair after braiding and all that jazz.
It's definitely eye opening to examine these little sneaky biases that I have about black hair.
This little video is right after I finished my flat iron process before my wrap.
I was already doing things for the nutrition of my body anyway but I'm building a more consistent regimen and I added blue butterfly pea tea.
Sis!!!! That's what I'm talkin bout🤗
