There's a new hair growth fad taking over the internet. As a herbalist, I'm in love with the properties of plants. Let's unpack clove for hair growth.

Origin: The Molucca Islands (Indonesia) and the southern Philippines. The powerhouse in clove is its key constituent volatile oil.

Volatile oil: 85% eugenol, acetyl, eugenol, methyl salicylate, pinene, vanillin.

Key Action: Analgesic: Carminative: Antispasmodic: Stimulation: Antiseptic:

Prevent vomiting: Eliminates parasites:

Today we will focus on a few of cloves' many actions.

Antispasmodic: Digestive issues, colic, gas, and abdominal bloating.

Antiseptic: Great at treating viral conditions, malaria, tuberculosis, cholera, and parasites like scabies.

Mind and body stimulant. Used in childbirth to stimulate uterine muscle contractions in labor.

Listed to treat skin ulcers, acne, sores, and styes.

Rich in potassium, sodium, omega-3 fatty acids, iron, manganese, vitamins K&C, iodine, and fiber. Cloves are full of antioxidants that protect the hair from oxidative damage.

Most scalp issues are caused by unknown., scalp issues, or disorders. Cloves are full of antioxidants that help your body fight off free radicals that damage cells leading to scalp disorders. Cloves fight free radicals. Overuse will damage the cells in the hair follicle which slows down the anagen phase of the hair growth cycle.

The Eugenol in the clove fights harmful bacteria, viruses, and fungus. The best part is its anti-viral and blood purification properties. They cleanse the blood decreasing its toxicity and making the immune system stronger by stimulating white blood cells. As amazing as all these properties of clove are, not all properties are extracted by simply boiling clove in water. The main cause of hair growth when using cloves on the scalp is its antiseptic, antibacterial, and stimulating properties. Cloves are simply killing all the yeast and bacteria accumulated on the scalp as a result of product build and poor scalp maintenance routine. Clove is attacking the bacteria and overgrowth of yeast on the scalp.

It's easy to remove the dead skin, bacteria and yeast. Here is one of my favorite tools to use on wet or dry hair!

  • ✔️ Increase Hair Thickness - According to studies, scalp massagers increase blood flow and may increase hair thickness

  • ✔️ Easily Clean Scalp - Remove dead skin, dandruff and contaminants quickly and easily with this combination scalp massager

  • ✔️ Wet or Dry - Use in shower with or without shampoo or completely dry

  • ✔️ Highest Quality Materials - We only use the highest quality materials including BPA, lead and phalate free food-grade silicone

  • ✔️ Unique Design - Our unique design allows you to easily swap scrubber heads and clean!

If your practice and routine stay in place you won't need it. Use clove if you have braids to clean your scalp between styles to prevent a build-up of yeast and bacteria on the scalp.

The skin only absorbs about 64 percent of what you apply and the scalp cant digest and break down every part of the plant to take away the benefits like your gut can. Your body absorbs over 90% of the food you eat. Ingest clove to take advantage of its benefits. Usage on the scalp is to treat infections and stimulate hair growth with the tincture. A tincture is made by soaking a herb in alcohol which encourages the active plant constituents to dissolve. These textures last up to two years. You can not get all the constituents boiling herbs in water.
